Advanced Power Components Phils., Inc. was founded in 1996 as the magnetics manufacturing division of privately held Asia Resources Limited (ARL) to compliment ARL's manufacturing facilities in Mexico, Taiwan and China. The company presently occupies the former Instrument Calibration facility of the U.S. Navy located in the Subic Bay Freeport Zone.

The company maintains three electronics divisions in Subic Bay:

•  Transformer and magnetics manufacturing
•  Communications module manufacturing
•  Assembly and testing of customer designed devices

The facility is located in a 2,200 square meter building with dedicated production and test areas. A secure warehouse provides for the storage of company owned materials as well as consigned kits. Communications are provided by telephone, facsimile, broad-band Internet and e-mail and video conferencing capabilities.

The company also has a plastics division with mold making and injection facilities in a 3,000 square meter building with 17 injection presses with capacities from 125 to 1000 tons. The plastics division supplies bobbins, formers, enclosures and other molded components for both internal use and to supply a large customer base.

The company presently employs 120 operators in the electronics manufacturing divisions and 60 operators in the plastics division. There is a senior design engineer and technical staff of 12 including design engineers, production engineers and quality control staff. There are 6 administrative support and housing personnel.

The plastics division is ISO9000 certified and the electronics manufacturing division is currently pursuing certification.
